  • The Function & Team

The Credit & Risk team sits within the Group Risk & Compliance function and provides independent oversight across the Private Credit platform.

Partnering with lending and portfolio management teams throughout the lending lifecycle, the team establishes and maintains the governance, frameworks and oversight that support consistent lending decisions, effective portfolio management and effective restructuring across all of Private Credit's lending strategies.

Credit & Risk team members work collaboratively across credit underwriting, portfolio monitoring, restructuring, recoveries and assurance, providing specialist expertise across all of Private Credit's lending strategies.

The Roles Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Audit Director, Credit & Risk the Assurance Manager is a core member of the Credit Assurance function, acting as Triple Point Lending's second line of defence delivering independent, risk-focused reviews of Relationship Management's oversight of borrower relationships across the credit lifecycle, from drawdown through to repayment or exit.

  • Review Delivery
  • Plan and execute credit file reviews across the Private Credit book, assessing borrower relationships across six dimensions: Asset Quality; Credit Administration & Management; Covenant Monitoring & Breach Management; Problem Debt Management; Monitoring, Reporting & Governance; and Data Completeness & Accuracy applying a risk-based sampling approach that prioritises higher-exposure names, complex facilities and sectors under stress.
  • Conduct thematic reviews on specific credit risk processes (e. g. covenant monitoring effectiveness, MI quality, credit submission standards) across a risk-based sample of the portfolio.
  • Carry out spot-checks between full file reviews, including new business covenant reviews ahead of the first covenant test.
  • Execute triggered reviews in response to material credit events, whistleblowing concerns, or requests from senior stakeholders or Credit Committee.
  • Use sanctioned AI tools (e. g.

Claude) to support review delivery developing a scalable, sustainable and repeatable automated process that assists with information synthesis, report preparation and pattern recognition across portfolio data — and identify opportunities to extend AI-enabled ways of working within the Credit Assurance function.

  • Assessment & Reporting
  • Apply the RAYG rating methodology consistently across review dimensions, forming overall ratings based on the materiality of findings.
  • Prepare evidence-based review reports, distinguishing factual findings from matters of judgement.
  • Escalate Amber and Red rated findings promptly ahead of final report issuance.
  • Maintain the live Credit Assurance recommendation tracker, reporting progress to Credit Forum and Investment Committee quarterly.
  • Prepare periodic assurance outputs, including quarterly thematic summaries and the annual portfolio review report.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Engage constructively with Relationship Managers during factual accuracy review, ensuring findings are well-supported while maintaining productive first-line relationships.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on credit risk standards, providing guidance and challenge that supports continuous improvement.
  • Support the Audit Director in the annual review of the Credit Assurance Framework and methodology.
  • Identify systemic issues or portfolio-wide trends through the review programme, raising these through governance channels.
  • Knowledge & Experience
  • Demonstrable proficiency with AI tools (e. g.

Claude, Chat GPT, Microsoft Copilot or equivalent sanctioned tools) in a professional setting, using them to analyse information, draft outputs and improve workflow efficiency.

  • Experience preparing professional written outputs (reports, analysis, presentations) for senior audiences in a financial services, professional services or regulated environment.
  • Experience assessing complex information and forming independent, well-evidenced judgements.
  • Experience in a credit risk, portfolio monitoring, internal audit or second-line assurance role within a lending organisation (private credit, non-bank lending or commercial banking) credit knowledge is valued but not a prerequisite; we will invest in developing the right candidate.
  • Familiarity with the credit lifecycle and second-line assurance methodologies covenant monitoring, MI review, watchlist management, early warning indicators, the three lines of defence model, or RAYG-style rating frameworks.
  • Experience with credit management systems (e. g. Aspire) or data/portfolio monitoring tools.
  • Exposure to multiple lending products, including SME lending, development finance, specialty finance or funds finance.
  • Prior experience introducing technology or process improvements within a risk or assurance function.
