The purpose of the Investment Finance and Operations function is to deliver target returns for Business Relief and Income Service investors. We achieve this by deploying raised capital and providing suitable financing facilities to both public and private sector entities, in line with the risk and return profiles defined for our investor base.
This team supports the Private Credit business, working closely with the Origination, Finance, Credit and Technology teams. A key priority is the management of the lending life cycle of a £1.6bn growing portfolio with a focus on enhancing existing processes, support and oversight of day-to-day tasks, emphasis on strong controls and accuracy, and enhancing data quality.
We are hiring two individuals to join our Private Credit Operations team. These are new roles designed as an entry point into financial services and lending operations for candidates with limited prior industry experience who are looking to begin or develop a career in the sector. This is a broad, hands-on role supporting the day-to-day administration of a private credit loan portfolio across the full loan lifecycle. You will gain exposure to how a lending business operates in practice while developing core operational, financial and stakeholder management skills.
The role sits across two areas:
- Deal Operations – supporting new lending transactions and onboarding
- In-Life Operations – supporting the ongoing administration of live loans
Over time, you may rotate across both areas to build a full understanding of the lending lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities (Both Teams)
- Support accurate and timely completion of operational tasks across the portfolio
- Maintain high standards of data quality and attention to detail
- Process activities in line with procedures and controls
- Update records, trackers and documentation
- Support cash, invoice and loan processing activities
- Liaise with internal stakeholders across teams
- Escalate issues and risks clearly and promptly
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce manual work
- Build knowledge of the loan lifecycle and how teams interact
Deal Operations
- Support deal completion and onboarding for new transactions
- Prepare and check documentation for new deals
- Set up borrowers and facilities in systems
- Assist with drawdowns and transaction execution
- Support transition from deal execution to live operations
In-Life Operations
- Support administration of live loans
- Assist with invoicing and payment tracking
- Support arrears administration and case tracking
- Assist with cash processing and reconciliations
- Monitor key dates and portfolio events
- Respond to internal queries
Knowledge & Experience
