The Function
This role sits within Triple Pointβs Private Credit team, which delivers flexible, relationship-led lending to ambitious UK SMEs. Our team combines deep credit expertise with a commitment to responsible investing, helping businesses access the capital they need to grow, refinance or restructure often where traditional lenders fall short.
As we continue to expand, we are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Credit Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role will provide essential credit support across new investment origination and ongoing portfolio monitoring activities.
Key Responsibilities
This role will be varied, but you will be expected to:
- Support the Head of Credit in managing credit risk across the Private Credit division.
Assist the Credit Committee process, including:
- Review credit applications.
- Prepare high-quality analysis and recommendations for Committee members.
Partner with Private Credit deal teams, offering credit expertise in evaluating new origination opportunities and assisting with portfolio management activities.
Contribute to credit-related reporting:
- Support the production and maintenance of internal and external-facing materials.
Own and enhance credit risk processes, including:
- Ongoing development and ownership of internal credit rating models/tools.
- Drive improvements in credit risk frameworks and procedures.
Lead or participate in ad-hoc credit projects, supporting strategic initiatives and process optimisation, where required.
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to interpret complex financial information and identify risk implications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication: Able to present credit opinions clearly and persuasively to senior stakeholders.
- Team collaboration: Ability to work effectively across deal teams, risk functions, and leadership.
- Proactivity and ownership: Comfortable working independently and willing to challenge the status quo, taking initiative to improve processes and outcomes. Self-motivated and project management ability.
- Technical proficiency: Advanced Excel skills required; familiarity with credit rating models and financial systems preferred. Experience using AI tools is a plus.
Experience & Qualifications
- A working knowledge obtained from a Credit and/or a Lending or Advisory background.
- Ability to read and interpret financial models, building models is desirable but not essential.
- Educated to degree level, ideally supported by a professional qualification in accountancy, banking or risk management is desirable but not essential.
- Prior exposure to mid-market or SME lending preferred, and knowledge of wholesale lending is highly desirable.
- Experience working with investment committees or credit committees is a plus.
- Familiarity with credit documentation and risk rating tools is advantageous such as Moody\βs and S&P.
