The Investment Finance and Operations team ensures the smooth financial and operational running of our investment platforms. They manage transactions, reporting and controls that underpin the performance and integrity of our funds and portfolios.

We are seeking a Cash Operations Executive to join the Private Credit Operations team and take responsibility for the Cash Operations function. This is a hands-on role responsible for the accurate posting, allocation and monitoring of all cash movements across a c. £1.5bn loan portfolio spanning multiple funds and legal entities. The role is critical in ensuring the integrity of loanbook cash records, timely processing of direct debits, and effective management of unallocated cash and participation payments.

  • Cash Posting & Allocation
    • Responsible for posting all daily cash movements from bank statements into the lending system.
    • Ensure all borrower receipts, interest, fees and other payments are accurately allocated.
    • Investigate and resolve any unallocated or misapplied cash in a timely manner.
    • Work closely with Finance to ensure cash postings align with general ledger entries.
    • Clear small residual balances (including 1p differences) and resolve reconciliation breaks.
    • Manage the end-to-end Direct Debit (DD) process.
    • Prepare and submit DD files to the bank in line with agreed timetables.
    • Monitor collections and investigate failed or rejected DDs.
    • Ensure DD receipts are correctly posted and allocated within the lending system.
    • Maintain accurate records of mandates and collection schedules.
  • Participations & Settlements
    • Process and settle participation payments across multiple funds/entities.
    • Ensure cash is correctly allocated between participating parties.
    • Support accurate recording of participation cashflows in the lending system.
    • Liaise with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate settlements.
  • Payments & Overheads
    • Monitor the shared payments inbox and respond to internal queries.
    • Prepare and process the weekly overhead payment run.
    • Ensure appropriate approvals are obtained prior to release of payments.
    • Maintain strong controls around payment processing and documentation.
  • Operational Support
    • Support month-end processes through timely completion of cash postings and reconciliations.
    • Assist with audit requests relating to cash movements and reconciliations.
    • Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within Cash Operations.
    • Maintain up-to-date process documentation.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in cash operations, loan administration, or lending operations.
  • Studying towards accounting exams such as AAT/ACA/ACCA/CIMA.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Knowledge of facility agreements and lending documentation.
  • Experience posting and allocating high volumes of cash transactions.
  • Experience working within a Leasing / Asset Finance financial services environment.
  • Familiarity with Direct Debit processes.
  • Comfortable working with financial systems and large data sets.

IT Skills

  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables and data analysis (macros desirable).
  • Experience using lending or finance systems.
