Job Description
The Viator Platform Product team is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Product Manager to lead the team in solving complex Finance problems and opportunities. You will be part of a dynamic, fun, and energetic team where you can make meaningful contributions and grow as a Product Manager.
As a Senior Product Manager, you will set the vision for our Finance platform, establish and execute a roadmap that meets the needs of multiple stakeholders across Engineering, Product, Marketing, Finance, Trust & Safety, and Legal. You will own and develop a complex billing platform, financial reporting, and a payout platform that disburses payments to thousands of businesses monthly in multiple currencies. You will serve as a product evangelist and subject matter expert for internal and external teams, including various Viator business units and partners.
We seek someone passionate about building platforms, with a deep understanding of the regulatory and commercial environment around payments, valuing simple interfaces for complex products, and thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. In this role, you will define and shape the overall Finance platform, providing tools and capabilities that enable our Finance teams to manage the flow of billions of dollars annually. Responsibilities
- Define and own the Billing, Financial Reporting, and Payout platforms
- Manage and optimize enterprise billing processes
- Create and optimize global sales tax processes and support DST requirements
- Provide comprehensive financial reporting for strategic decision-making
- Implement advanced self-serve tooling for Finance teams
- Oversee merchant billing processes for Viator transactions
- Handle exchange rates and define cost-effective strategies
- Evaluate existing tooling and recommend improvements for billing and remittance processes
- Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners
- Partner with Finance to improve cash flow and routing opportunities
- Develop business cases for efficiency improvements
- Create specifications for engineering teams and collaborate on implementation
- Set prioritization and manage the backlog
- Serve as a product evangelist and subject matter expert
- Maintain proper product documentation
- Assess emerging products and policies for potential value or threats
Required Skills/Experience
- 5+ years product management experience, including 2+ years in a marketplace or complex billing products at scale
- Deep understanding of regulatory and commercial environments around payments
- Good understanding of APIs and REST API practices; experience calling APIs is desirable
- Exceptional attention to detail, strategic thinking, stakeholder management
- Ability to simplify complex regulatory and financial requirements
- Strong technical issue resolution skills
- Ownership mentality, ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
