About Bókun
Bókun is the leading reservation system and marketing platform for the global tours and activities industry. Founded in Iceland and now a fast-growing subsidiary of Tripadvisor Inc., we offer the best of both worlds: the high-energy pace and innovation of a startup with the stable backing of the world’s largest travel guidance platform. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Sales Development Associate to join our team. This is not a typical cold-calling role; it is a consultative position designed for those who want to master the art of SaaS sales by working with a high percentage of warm and qualified leads. While this role begins as a 6-month fixed-term contract, we view it as the perfect "foot in the door" opportunity. For a high-performer, this is a proving ground to demonstrate your ability to grow and potentially take advantage of future openings and long-term career paths within Bókun and the wider Tripadvisor ecosystem.
What You Will Do
- Consultative Outreach: Conduct high-volume engagement with prospective customers who have already shown interest in our platform, moving beyond scripts to have meaningful business conversations.
- Value Positioning: Clearly articulate the Bókun value proposition, identifying an operator’s pain points and demonstrating how our suite of tools (Reservation systems, Channel Managers, and Websites) can grow their revenue.
- Business Discovery: Act as a brand ambassador for both Bókun and Tripadvisor, utilizing a consultative approach to identify business needs and solve real-world challenges for tour providers.
- Pipeline Management: Manage your activity and lead progression within Salesforce, ensuring every opportunity is nurtured and moved through the funnel with precision to meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborative Growth: Work closely with our Account Executives and Support teams to ensure a seamless transition as high-quality opportunities convert into long-term partners.
What You Will Bring to the Team
- Communication Mastery: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly, tell a compelling story, and handle objections with curiosity and resilience.
- Sales DNA: A results-driven, execution-focused mindset with a strong desire to exceed targets in a fast-paced environment.
- Consultative Mindset: A focus on building effective client relationships through positive communication, honesty, and a genuine interest in helping small businesses thrive.
- Technical Aptitude: Comfortable with technical interactions, including co-browsing with customers online to navigate our software and conduct product demos.
- Growth Mindset: A proactive self-starter who is coachable, open to feedback, and views this initial contract as a launchpad for a professional sales career.
- Experience: Prior experience in customer-facing roles (Hospitality, Customer Service, or Retail) is advantageous; a strong interest in travel-tech or SaaS sales is essential.
- Bonus: Familiarity with Italian, Spanish, French, or other European languages is a significant plus.
If you are proactive, motivated, and eager to prove your ability in a team-oriented and entrepreneurial environment, then this is the perfect role for you. At Bókun, we value and nurture emerging talent, offering a culture that rewards those who take ownership of their results. Join a global team of professionals who are passionate about the future of travel. This is not just a job, but a career opportunity with significant potential for growth based on your results.
