Job Overview

We are seeking a Level 2 Software Engineer to join the Domain Platform Team at Tripadvisor. This senior team works across various technologies and infrastructure, providing an opportunity to engage with our entire tech stack—from in-house systems to cloud solutions, Java microservices, and CI/CD frameworks. The ideal candidate will be proficient in TypeScript, JavaScript, and Java, with experience in Spring Boot, Docker, and Kubernetes being highly desirable. Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve Tripadvisor\’s Cortex implementation for effective engineering support.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to optimize Cortex features and address technical challenges.
• Engage with engineering teams to curate and maintain the Cortex service catalog.
• Enhance service ownership, reliability, and observability best practices across the organization.
• Contribute to discussions shaping the future development experience at Tripadvisor in cloud environments.
• Apply networking principles and cloud architecture best practices to improve system performance and scalability.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality software development.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, and Java.
• Experience with Spring Boot, relational and NoSQL databases, Docker, and Kubernetes is desirable.
• Knowledge of networking principles and cloud architecture (AWS, GCP, or similar) is a plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with diverse engineering teams.
