Triodos Bank is an award-winning organisation and one of Europe’s leading sustainable banks, whose mission is to make money work for positive social, environmental, and cultural change. We offer a wide range of banking services for people who want to use their money consciously – from current accounts through to investments and savings. We only finance companies, organisations and projects that benefit people and the environment.

Financial Risk oversight is a key responsibility within the 2nd Line Risk Function of Triodos Bank UK (TBUK), providing proactive support, and constructive challenge around the Bank’s prudential, capital, and liquidity risk management.

This role focuses on oversight, support, and challenge of:

  • Key prudential documents (ICAAP, ILAAP, Recovery & Resolution Plans, Solvent Exit Analysis)
  • Financial regulatory reporting, including related processes and controls
  • Primary and secondary risks relating to Strategy (capital and profitability), Reputation, Market, and Liquidity

You will also be a key liaison with Triodos Group on these areas and deputise for the TBUK Head of Enterprise, Financial & Operational Risk on financial and enterprise risk matters as required.

This is a permanent, full-time role offering flexible hybrid working – with a minimum of two days per week in our Bristol office, and the option to work from home on other days (following an initial induction period). Some flexibility will be required to meet business needs.

This is an excellent opportunity in a new role, created to support and complement the existing specialist prudential knowledge in the Risk function, to make a real impact in a complex and evolving environment, offering both significant responsibility and challenge.

Key Responsibilities Will Require You To:

  • Provide technical support and constructive challenge to the 1st Line, particularly the Finance Team, across Capital, Treasury, Liquidity, and Funding activities.
  • Oversee and review ILAAP, ICAAP, Recovery & Resolution Plans, stress-testing, and related documentation to ensure accuracy and timely updates.
  • Contribute to effective 2nd Line risk reporting, including the analysis of key risk indicators and providing insightful commentary for management and committees.
  • Execute oversight of enterprise-wide and prudential risks through assurance plans, including regulatory reporting and key prudential documents.
  • Maintain and develop robust financial risk frameworks, policies, and methodologies in line with regulatory requirements, Group standards, and best practices.
  • Support analysis of new and evolving prudential regulations, assessing their impact on the Bank and internal risk management.
  • Represent the Bank in external networks, committees, and working groups, as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and governance requirements.

What We Are Looking For:

You will have significant experience in prudential, enterprise, or financial risk management, or in a relevant regulatory or audit capacity. An academic degree or professional qualification is desirable. You bring strong knowledge of risk management tools, processes, and relevant regulations, along with excellent organisational skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities.

We are seeking someone with clear and concise communication skills, who can interact credibly and professionally at all levels of the business. You should share the values and mission of Triodos Bank, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and balance a risk mindset with commercial understanding. Flexibility, a proactive attitude, and the ability to deliver high-quality results in a dynamic environment are essential, as is a willingness to be hands-on while maintaining appropriate independence as part of the 2nd Line of Defence.

What We Offer:

In return for your hard work and expertise, you will receive a competitive full time equivalent salary of between £65,000 and £72,000 depending on experience, plus access to our extensive benefits package, where most of our benefits are non-contributory.

Our Benefits Include:

  • Non-contributory pension scheme from your first day of 8% in year 1 and 10% from year 2 onwards
  • Life Assurance (worth 4 times basic pay)
  • Income Protection - 75% of basic pay after 13 weeks sick and following six months service
  • Private Medical Insurance with optional enhanced or HCP family coverage
  • A Health Cash Plan
  • Vitality Leave – After each 5 years of service, you will be able to take a sabbatical of up to 3 months. This benefit is then available after every 7 years of service thereafter.
  • 27 days (Full Time Equivalent) annual leave plus bank holidays per annum increasing to 30 days after 2 years’ service
  • A buy and sell holiday scheme of up to 5 days (Full Time Equivalent) up to maximum of 35 days total annual leave
  • 5 days fully paid carers leave
  • A wellbeing allowance of £200 a year
  • 1 Wellbeing Day
  • Free yoga classes
  • Co-worker retail discounts
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Refer a Friend scheme
  • Colleague recognition voucher scheme
