THE ROLE
Trint is looking for a skilled Financial Controller to help to support scaling growth.
We are looking for a talented, dependable Financial Controller who will take full responsibility for all accounting, annual and monthly reporting, audit, tax and controls.
This position will suit someone who is focused on running a financial function and is keen to utilise their skill set in a dynamic scale‑up environment.
Ideally, you will have experience running a finance function in Enterprise SAAS or a related growth company.
You are someone who thrives on tackling problems and enjoys rolling up your sleeves to get involved in the details.
This role includes one direct report: supervising and mentoring the team’s Financial Accountant, providing guidance, review, and development support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Financial Reporting & Control
- Own and deliver the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
- Oversee the preparation of multi‑currency, consolidated management accounts with clear commentary and performance analysis.
- Ensure integrity of underlying financial data and reconciliations
- Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls.
- Financial operations
- Oversee day‑to‑day finance operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions across the finance function.
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, including invoicing, collections, supplier payments, and query resolution.
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition and transaction posting in line with company policies and accounting standards.
- Compliance & Tax
- Lead the preparation of consolidated statutory accounts (UK GAAP).
- Oversee the audit process and manage relationships with external auditors
- Manage the preparation of Canadian entity accounts with our local accountants.
- Manage all tax submissions including VAT, EU VAT, payroll taxes, PSA, P11D and Corporation tax and other regulatory filings.
- Lead the preparation of R&D claims with our external advisors.
- Cash management and treasury
- Manage the company’s cash and treasury activities, ensuring sufficient liquidity to support operations.
- Maintain and update a rolling 13‑week cash flow forecast, analysing variances and highlighting liquidity risks.
- Identify and manage FX exposures, implementing appropriate mitigation or hedging strategies where required.
- Provide regular treasury and cash flow reporting to senior management, including key risks and forecast movements.
- Maintain relationships with banking partners and ensure compliance with treasury policies and controls.
- FP&A & Commercial Support
- Partner with the FP&A Manager on budgeting, forecasting, and reforecast cycles.
- Provide insightful variance analysis and performance reporting.
- Support commercial decision-making with robust financial data.
- Assist in scenario modelling and forecasting for project based decision making.
- Systems and Process Improvements
- Lead process improvement initiatives, proactively leveraging automation tools and AI to streamline finance operations, enhance controls, and increase efficiency.
- Enhance financial insights, forecasting capability, and decision support.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to implement technology solutions that improve financial reporting and operational efficiency.
- REQUIRED SKILLS
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) with 3+ years PQE, ideally in a high‑growth Saa S, technology, or scale‑up environment.
- Strong experience leading the monthly close, preparing management accounts, and maintaining robust financial controls.
- Solid knowledge of UK GAAP, statutory reporting, and external audit management.
- Experience working in multi‑entity, multi‑currency environments, including consolidated reporting.
- Experience overseeing tax compliance (VAT, payroll taxes, corporation tax) and managing external advisors; US and Canadian tax knowledge advantageous but not essential.
- Strong understanding of cash management, treasury, and cash flow forecasting, including 13‑week forecasts and FX exposure.
- Proven track record of process improvement and finance automation, ideally using modern tools or AI.
- Experience managing and developing junior finance team members.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills with high attention to detail.
