We are seeking an Interim Head of Supply Chain & Quality to lead our procurement, supply chain & quality functions in a fast-growing beauty business. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for shaping and managing the strategy across all three areas, overseeing multiple product categories on Direct Procurement, and ensuring that our supplier base aligns with the company’s innovation and growth objectives. Working to optimise our supply chain agility & inventory levels while integrating new tools to drive further efficiency & implementing a robust QC management strategy alongside developing Trinny London’s QMS. You will manage and coach a team of 4 direct reports with a focus on driving performance across cost, quality, and supply chain agility.
Overall responsibility:
- Partner with Finance on Inventory & Cost Management process, cycle & methodology to ensure overview of costs, spend and evolution.
- Proactively manage operations risks at a global level, ensuring compliance with regulatory, financial, and ethical standards.
- Deliver the best total cost of ownership for the business, optimising costs through negotiation, value engineering, and supply chain efficiencies - on all products.
- Coach, mentor, and develop the team, ensuring strong collaboration and continuous development within the team.
Procurement Strategy & Supplier Management:
- Lead the execution of the overall Procurement strategy for all products for sale, aligned with business goals and growth targets.
- Lead high-level/high-stakes negotiations with suppliers, ensuring agreements deliver the best balance of cost, quality, innovation, and supply chain reliability.
- Drive SRM program, ensuring continuous improvement in supplier performance across cost, quality, supply chain, social & sustainable, and innovation.
- Execute supplier strategies, including selection, on-boarding, performance management, and exit strategies.
Supply planning & inventory management:
- Support implementation of new AI Planning tools.
- Manage finished goods and component inventory in line with existing targets, maintaining availability.
- Continuously review and refine supply chain processes to improve margin, agility — reducing lead times, and ensuring the business can respond quickly to changes in demand.
Quality assurance & compliance:
- Drive the implementation of a risk management Quality Control strategy.
- Uphold quality standards across the supply base, maintaining the cross-functional ways of working with Procurement and Product Development already established.
- Continued implementation of Quality Management System processes to drive a culture of efficiency.
Requirements:
- Extensive background in supply chain leadership, specifically across procurement and supply planning, with a clear history of delivering results.
- Experience of leading a quality team is desirable but not essential.
- Comprehensive expertise within the beauty sector, including deep knowledge of third-party manufacturing and packaging supplier landscapes.
- A holistic understanding of the end-to-end cosmetics supply chain, spanning from initial product development through to final delivery.
- A strategic approach that effectively balances immediate operational wins with overarching long-term business objectives.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and scale high-performing teams within a rapidly evolving, high-growth environment.
- A proactive self-starter who is highly results-oriented and capable of mobilising cross-functional teams to capture new opportunities.
- The agility to thrive and remain effective in fast-paced settings characterised by constant growth and change.
- Familiarity with cosmetics regulatory frameworks and quality management systems is highly desirable.
