We are recruiting on behalf of a highly successful and rapidly expanding professional services firm seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to join its Business Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys working closely with clients, solving complex business challenges, and providing strategic financial insight.
The role offers a broad mix of financial reporting, management accounting, forecasting, business advisory, and client relationship management responsibilities. You will work with a diverse portfolio of clients, helping them gain clarity over their financial performance while supporting key business decisions and future growth.
As an Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of accounting and finance services to clients while supporting and developing junior team members. Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing management accounts and financial reports
- Producing and reviewing statutory financial statements
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Liaising with external auditors and managing audit processes
- Preparing cash flow forecasts, budgets, and financial models
- Supporting clients with business planning and strategic decision-making
- Delivering ad-hoc projects and financial analysis as required
- Managing your own portfolio and ensuring exceptional client service delivery
- Coaching, mentoring, and developing junior team members
- Working collaboratively across the wider business to deliver value-added solutions
- Identifying opportunities to support clients with additional services and solutions
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent)
- Experience gained within practice, industry, or a combination of both
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills
- Experience preparing management accounts and financial analysis
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Desirable Experience:
- Experience working with cloud-based accounting platforms
- Exposure to outsourced finance, virtual FD/CFO, or business advisory services
- Experience implementing technology-driven finance solutions
