Role Overview
To support Advisers and ultimately clients in the advice‑giving process with data collection, product research, and production of application forms and supporting literature.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain information on existing policies; issue a letter of authority, chase providers regularly and gather information online, over the phone or in writing.
- Produce new business illustrations using our own or third‑party software.
- Prepare information/comparisons for analysis by the Paraplanner and Adviser; this includes use of Pulse, IMAGO, Iress, and other financial planning software.
- Request and obtain application forms and other associated paperwork.
- Ensure accurate recording of data on the company back‑office system(s) and update it in line with company procedures.
- Ensure adherence to the department’s and company procedures and department key performance indicators (KPIs)/objectives.
Regulatory Responsibilities
- Demonstrate understanding of the regulatory framework relevant to the role and practice effective risk management considering client outcomes.
- Follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations, and procedures governing the conduct of the business. Follow FCA principles and internal requirements set out in the Compliance Manual, local and group compliance and risk policies.
About You – Qualifications, Skills and Strengths
- Progression with Regulated Diploma in Financial Planning (CII).
- Understanding of the financial planning process where appropriate.
- Work within defined business processes and achieve agreed outcomes without supervision.
- Multi‑task and prioritise and plan own workload.
- Assertive “can do” approach to dealing with product providers and fund management groups.
- Strong IT skills in Word and Excel, and in a range of in‑house and third‑party software tools such as X‑Plan and Iress.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
