Are you an experienced CNC Miller looking for a long-term opportunity within a well-established precision engineering environment? Would you like a role that offers 3 day weekends?! We are currently recruiting for a skilled CNC Miller to join a busy manufacturing team in Nottingham. This role would suit someone with experience setting and operating milling machines who takes pride in producing high-quality precision components to tight tolerances.

The Role

  • Set, operate and programme milling machines in line with production schedules
  • Manufacture precision engineered components to customer drawings and specifications
  • Select suitable tooling, fixtures, and machine settings for each job
  • Carry out tool changes and machine adjustments where required
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
  • Inspect finished components using measuring equipment including verniers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, and shadowgraphs where applicable
  • Complete quality documentation and production records accurately
  • Monitor machine performance and report any faults or tooling issues
  • Maintain high housekeeping and health & safety standards
  • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities
  • Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous experience setting and operating milling machines within an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment
  • Strong understanding of tolerances and quality standards
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication and team working skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Strong understanding of health & safety within manufacturing

Package

  • £19.00 per hour
  • 39‑hour working week
  • Monday - Thursday working pattern
  • 9.75 hour shifts
  • 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Overtime available paid at enhanced rates: 1.3x weekdays, 1.5x weekends
