Are you an experienced CNC Miller looking for a long-term opportunity within a well-established precision engineering environment? Would you like a role that offers 3 day weekends?! We are currently recruiting for a skilled CNC Miller to join a busy manufacturing team in Nottingham. This role would suit someone with experience setting and operating milling machines who takes pride in producing high-quality precision components to tight tolerances.
The Role
- Set, operate and programme milling machines in line with production schedules
- Manufacture precision engineered components to customer drawings and specifications
- Select suitable tooling, fixtures, and machine settings for each job
- Carry out tool changes and machine adjustments where required
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
- Inspect finished components using measuring equipment including verniers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, and shadowgraphs where applicable
- Complete quality documentation and production records accurately
- Monitor machine performance and report any faults or tooling issues
- Maintain high housekeeping and health & safety standards
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities
- Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience setting and operating milling machines within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience using precision measuring equipment
- Strong understanding of tolerances and quality standards
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good communication and team working skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Strong understanding of health & safety within manufacturing
Package
- £19.00 per hour
- 39-hour working week
- Monday – Thursday working pattern
- 9.75 hour shifts
- 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- Overtime available paid at enhanced rates:
- 1.3x weekdays
- 1.5x weekends
