Music Chaperone (Casual Contract) in Croydon

Croydon Full-Time No working from home possible
Trinity School

At Trinity School, we are committed to providing exceptional opportunities for our students to develop and showcase their musical talents. To support this, we maintain a dedicated team of casual chaperones who supervise and support pupils participating in a wide range of music-related activities and performances.

We are seeking to expand our pool of Music Chaperones to meet the growing needs of the Trinity Choirs and Music Department. Assignments may include concerts, tours, recordings, competitions, rehearsals and other events, both on and off site. Working on a casual basis, hours will vary according to the needs of the department and may include evenings, weekends and occasional overnight trips. Chaperones play a vital role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children in their care. They act as advocates for pupils, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and participation while providing fair, equitable and inclusive support at all times.

The successful candidate will be a professional and reliable individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Applicants must hold a valid Chaperone Licence, together with a current Enhanced DBS certificate with Children's Barred List check. Previous experience of working with children and young people in a performance, educational or similar setting would be advantageous. This is an exciting opportunity to support talented young musicians and contribute to a vibrant and ambitious music programme.

We are a diverse community at Trinity and strongly encourage applications from teaching and operational staff from a range of backgrounds. To enable us to make any reasonable adjustments, please let us know when you submit your application whether you have any special requirements.

The Company

Trinity is one of two schools governed by the Whitgift Foundation, founded in 1596 by the then Archbishop of Canterbury, John Whitgift.

Trinity’s academic results regularly place it among the top schools in the country.

In 2022 Trinity was ranked 23rd in the Parent Power list of Top 100 Independent Schools in the UK and 13th in London, making it the top-ranked independent school in Croydon.

Beyond academic results, we celebrate intellectual curiosity and foster a culture in which pupils feel inspired to take a genuine interest in the world around them.

Exceptional staff is fundamental to our mission and we look forward to welcoming outstanding candidates to join our team.

Trinity School reserves the right to interview and appoint before the published closing date. Trinity strongly encourages applications from ethnic minority candidates. 42% of our students are from ethnic minority backgrounds and we want to have a staff body that reflects the diversity of the school and our local area.

Trinity School is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All applicants will be required to comply with all safeguarding procedures including an Enhanced DBS check.

Our Values

At Trinity our focus is on leading through values; on the kind of young people that our students become through being at Trinity, with day-to-day school experiences and a love of learning shaping them before they move on to extraordinary futures.
