Are you the kind of engineer who thrives in the space between a clean CAD design and a busy factory floor? We are looking for a Project Engineer to act as the vital link between Design and Manufacturing. In this role, you aren’t just watching from the sidelines. You are the "Product Champion," ensuring that complex engineering designs are successfully translated into high-quality, scalable products. From designing custom automated test equipment to troubleshooting live production issues, you will be the go-to problem solver who keeps the line moving and the quality soaring.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • The NPI Architect: You’ll lead the transition from CDR (Critical Design Review) through to PRR (Production Readiness Review). You own the handover, ensuring the manufacturing team is armed with the knowledge and tools they need to succeed.
  • The Technical Firefighter: When production hits a snag, you’re the first point of contact. You’ll perform root-cause analysis, liaise with Design Authorities, and implement drawing updates to keep on track.
  • Innovation in Testing: You will propose, design, and commission Special-to-Type (STTE) and Automated Test Equipment (ATE). You aren’t just building the product; you’re building the systems that prove it works.
  • Strategic Liaison: You’ll sit at the center of a high-speed wheel, coordinating between Project Managers, Stores, Quality Assurance, and external stakeholders to eliminate bottlenecks before they happen.

The Ideal Profile

  • The "Translator": You can talk high-level physics with a Design Engineer and practical assembly with a Technician in the same breath.
  • Practical Problem Solver: You have a "hands-on" mindset and aren’t afraid to dive into fault-finding or minor drawing pack modifications.
  • Process Minded: You understand the importance of SOPs, CARs, and Change Control Boards—you see documentation not as a chore, but as the backbone of quality.
  • Technical Toolkit: Experience in the DDQ phase and a strong grasp of manufacturing data packs and production standards.
  • SC Clearance: Able to obtain clearances for UK eyes only projects.

Why This Role? This isn’t a "siloed" desk job. This is a high-visibility position where you will work directly with Project Managers and Hardware Team Leads. You will see the direct impact of your work as products move from a prototype concept to a finished unit heading out the door.
