We are partnering with an innovative engineering organisation to appoint a Hardware Engineer who will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between design and manufacturing. This is a highly collaborative, hands-on position focused on ensuring new products transition smoothly from development into full production β€” while maintaining quality, cost, and schedule performance. If you thrive in fast-paced engineering environments and enjoy solving real-world production challenges, this could be an excellent next step.

You will act as the key interface between project and manufacturing teams, ensuring production runs efficiently and that technical issues are resolved swiftly and effectively. You will champion products through the full production readiness lifecycle β€” from design proving and test & integration, through Production Readiness Review (PRR), and into steady-state manufacture. This role combines technical depth with strong stakeholder coordination and commercial awareness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary point of contact for production and test teams when technical issues arise.
  • Lead fault-finding investigations and support root cause analysis activities.
  • Liaise with supply chain, stores, QA, and engineering to resolve non-conformances and production blockers.
  • Support configuration control and change processes, including documentation updates and corrective actions.
  • Partner closely with the Project Manager to resolve engineering-related production challenges.
  • Work alongside Production Engineers to ensure design maturity and manufacturability.
  • Support development and maintenance of Manufacturing Data Packs and drawing documentation.
  • Champion products through Production Readiness Review (PRR), ensuring facilities, tooling, and test equipment are in place.
  • Facilitate structured knowledge transfer from engineering into manufacturing teams.
  • Support post-PRR change control processes and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support test and integration activities during design proving phases.
  • Contribute to production test planning and documentation development.
  • Assist in coordinating works requisitions and production scheduling inputs.
  • Lead the specification, design, and commissioning of special-to-type and automated test equipment.
  • Ensure test systems are delivered on time and ready for production start.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience as a Hardware Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, or NPI Engineer role.
  • Strong understanding of production environments and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction and production readiness activities.
  • Knowledge of change control, configuration management, and production documentation.
  • Experience with test equipment specification and/or automated test systems.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and QA.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong communication skills.
Why Apply?
  • Play a critical role in bringing new products into successful production.
  • Work within a collaborative engineering environment.
  • High visibility role with meaningful impact on delivery, quality, and performance.
  • Opportunity to influence production efficiency and technical excellence.

If you're an engineer who enjoys owning problems, driving production readiness, and ensuring products move smoothly from concept to manufacture, we would love to hear from you.
