We are seeking a Learning & Development Specialist to join a leading UK engineering organisation operating at the forefront of aerospace and aviation manufacturing. You'll be embedded within the factory, partnering closely with engineering teams involved in precision machining, assembly, inspection, and testing to shape technical capability and support safety, performance, and world-class manufacturing standards. You will design and deliver practical, high-value training focused on engineering and manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging, practical technical training across manufacturing teams
  • Create clear development pathways that support progression and capability growth
  • Develop training materials, exercises, and assessments aligned to engineering standards
  • Assess competence and support skills certification activities
  • Maintain accurate training records using internal systems and LMS platforms
  • Work closely with engineering and operational leaders to identify critical skills gaps
  • Drive quality, KPIs, and continuous improvement across all training activity

What We're Looking For

  • Experience training, coaching, or developing people within an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • The confidence to communicate clearly and build trust on the shop floor
  • A solid understanding of manufacturing processes (aerospace, defence, automotive, or similar)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Proficiency with MS Office and SharePoint
  • Experience using LMS platforms or digital learning tools
  • Background in aerospace, defence, MRO, or precision engineering
  • Knowledge of quality or inspection processes

Qualifications

  • Level 4 (HNC) or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • BPSS clearance eligibility required
