An established engineering organisation supporting the Defence sector is seeking an experienced Electronics Test Engineer to join its production and test team in Portland. This role focuses on inspection, testing, and fault-finding of electronic modules, units, and systems within a high-quality manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- IPC-level inspection of electronic assemblies
- Execution of formal test procedures and accurate results recording
- Hardware, software, and firmware configuration verification
- Fault-finding and repair to component level (analogue & digital)
- Use of test equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, multimeters, and power supplies
- Maintaining test records, defect logs, and quality standards
- Working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams
- Ensuring compliance with H&S and quality procedures
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an electronics manufacturing/test environment
- Experience working to deadlines and quality standards
- IPC inspection certification
- BTEC Electronics qualification (ONC/HNC/HND) or equivalent
- Defence project experience (desirable)
- Ability to read electronic and mechanical drawings

- Permanent role, 37.5 hours per week
- Office-based (5 days per week)
- Location: Portland
- UK nationals only (BPSS required; SC desirable)
