Are you an experienced HR generalist looking for a varied, standalone role where you can genuinely make an impact?

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established international organisation for an experienced Human Resources Manager to join the business on a 9-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on across the full employee lifecycle whilst partnering closely with senior leaders to support business success.

This is a true generalist role, ideal for someone who thrives in a smaller UK business where no two days are the same and enjoys taking ownership of everything from strategic HR initiatives to day-to-day administration.

What you'll be doing

As the sole HR professional supporting a UK workforce of around 50 employees, you'll take responsibility for all aspects of HR including:

  • Acting as the trusted HR advisor to senior leadership and managers
  • Managing employee relations cases including performance, grievance, disciplinary and absence management
  • Supporting organisational change and employee engagement initiatives
  • Leading recruitment activities from attraction through to onboarding
  • Managing the monthly payroll process (using ADP) ensuring deadlines are met accurately
  • Overseeing HR administration, employee records and HR systems
  • Managing employee benefits including pensions, healthcare and life assurance
  • Supporting annual salary reviews and workforce planning
  • Coordinating performance management, learning & development and succession planning
  • Partnering with an international HR team to implement wider HR initiatives within the UK

This is a role where attention to detail really matters. You'll be equally comfortable advising senior managers as you are processing payroll changes or ensuring HR records are accurate and compliant.

About You

You'll be an experienced HR professional who enjoys working autonomously and taking ownership.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Significant experience within a broad HR Generalist or HR Manager role
  • Strong Employee Relations experience with confidence managing cases independently
  • Excellent knowledge of UK employment law
  • Experience managing monthly payroll processes (ADP experience would be advantageous)
  • Previous responsibility for HR administration and HR systems
  • Outstanding organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • The ability to influence, coach and build strong relationships across the business
  • CIPD Level 7 (or equivalent) is preferred

Experience working within an international or matrix organisation would be beneficial but isn't essential.

Working Pattern

  • 20 hours per week
  • Tuesday and Wednesday are core office days but you can choose a pattern that works for you.

What's on Offer

  • Great pro rata'd salary, depending on experience
  • 25 days annual leave (pro rata)
  • Company pension
  • Medicash healthcare plan
  • Life assurance
  • Employee discounts and salary extras scheme
  • Hybrid working
  • A supportive, collaborative culture where you'll have real autonomy and influence

If you're an experienced HR professional who enjoys balancing strategic partnering with hands-on operational HR and you're looking for a flexible part-time opportunity where you can make a genuine difference, we'd love to hear from you.
