An established and highly regarded regional law firm is looking for an Employment Paralegal / Personal Assistant to join its Employment team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Law Graduate, Legal Administrator, Paralegal or Legal PA with an interest in Employment Law to join a busy and supportive team. The role offers the opportunity to develop your legal knowledge and, with appropriate training and supervision, progress towards managing your own caseload.

You will provide a combination of legal, paralegal and administrative support to solicitors within the Employment team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing day-to-day support to Employment fee earners
  • Opening and managing new matters on the case management system
  • Maintaining accurate electronic and paper files
  • Supporting solicitors with employment cases
  • Preparing legal documents, correspondence and reports
  • Carrying out legal research and preparing summaries
  • Liaising with clients, counsel, tribunals and third parties
  • Assisting with Employment Tribunal claims and hearings
  • Supporting the preparation of hearing bundles
  • Assisting with billing and time recording
  • Managing key dates and deadlines
  • Supporting matters from initial instruction through to completion

With training and appropriate supervision, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Prepare your own client correspondence
  • Draft employment documentation
  • Work on contracts, settlement agreements and policies
  • Develop your knowledge of employment legislation and procedures
  • Progress towards managing your own caseload
  • Get involved in client seminars and business development activity

The ideal candidate will have either a Law Degree or previous experience within a legal administration, paralegal or PA role, ideally within an Employment Law environment. You should have:

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good IT and case management skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities
  • A professional and client-focused approach
  • An interest in developing a career within Employment Law

This could suit you if you are a Law Graduate looking for their first legal role, an experienced Legal PA looking to move into a more paralegal position, or an existing Employment Paralegal looking for a role offering greater development.
