We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor with a strong employee relations background to join a busy and collaborative UK HR team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working closely with managers and stakeholders, providing practical and commercially focused advice across a broad range of people matters.
You will act as a trusted advisor and employee relations subject matter expert, managing complex casework while helping to build management capability and deliver positive employee relations outcomes.
The Role
- Provide expert advice on employee relations and UK employment law, offering pragmatic and commercially focused guidance to managers and stakeholders.
- Manage complex employee relations cases from start to finish, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance, absence, flexible working, conduct and workplace conflict matters.
- Support organisational change activity, including restructures, redundancies, TUPE and consultation processes.
- Coach managers and deliver training, guidance and practical toolkits to improve confidence, consistency and people management capability.
- Contribute to HR projects, engagement, wellbeing, learning and health & safety initiatives across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures and documentation, ensuring they remain compliant, effective and aligned with best practice.
- Prepare formal HR documentation, including investigation reports, outcome letters, consultation materials, settlement agreements and tribunal-related correspondence where required.
- Monitor employment legislation, case law and HR best practice, identifying potential risks and recommending appropriate action.
- Manage DSARs, legal enquiries, HR inbox queries and other employee-related matters, escalating where appropriate.
- Analyse employee relations trends and people data, supporting improvements to employee experience, management effectiveness and organisational decision-making.
About You
- CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent experience, with at least 4–5 years' experience in an HR Advisory or Employee Relations Specialist role.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law, employee relations best practice and HR policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships at all levels.
- Highly organised and able to manage competing priorities, sensitive casework and tight deadlines with discretion, professionalism and emotional intelligence.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and HR systems, with experience in HRIS platforms such as Workday desirable.
- Enjoy a primarily office-based role in Marlow, with the flexibility to work from home up to two days per week, subject to business requirements.
