Our client, based in Redditch, is seeking a confident and hands-on Accounts Manager to join their team on a temporary basis, with the potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong accounting and payroll experience who enjoys leading a team and working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the accounts department on a day-to-day basis.
  • Oversee the payroll process from start to finish for approximately 250 employees.
  • Calculate holiday pay, SSP, maternity/paternity pay, attachment of earnings and other payroll deductions.
  • Train, support and develop the accounts team.
  • Process sales invoices and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Carry out credit control activities.
  • Conduct credit checks and set appropriate credit limits for customer accounts.
  • Allocate payments, receipts and credit notes.
  • Prepare supplier payment runs and process payments.
  • Post daily banking transactions.
  • Process employee expenses and relevant journal entries.
  • Produce financial information and reports for senior management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure efficient financial processes.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting procedures.
  • Complete any other accounts-related duties as required. About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Previous experience in an Accounts Manager or senior accounting position.
  • Essential experience using Sage 50 and Sage 50 Payroll.
  • Experience processing payroll from start to finish.
  • Previous people management or supervisory experience.
  • AAT qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Health & Safety The successful candidate will be expected to comply with all company Health & Safety policies and procedures, taking responsibility for their own wellbeing and contributing to a positive safety culture across the business.
