We’re working with a well-established UK manufacturing business who are looking to add an Electrical Draughtsman to their small technical drawing office team. This opportunity would suit either a college or university graduate looking to start their career, or someone with existing experience in electrical drawings who is looking to develop further within a supportive engineering environment. You’ll be working closely with the Technical Manager and wider engineering team, supporting the creation and maintenance of electrical drawings used in production. Training and support will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their electrical design skills in a practical manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Producing and issuing electrical drawings for use by the production team
  • Supporting the implementation of relevant electrical standards and documentation requirements
  • Maintaining and organising drawing office documentation and revision control
  • Creating and updating Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Supporting the test engineering team with basic fault-finding activities where required
  • Assisting with general drawing office administration and engineering documentation
  • Developing knowledge of the company’s products and systems over time

The Ideal Candidate

This role would suit someone early in their engineering career who is keen to learn and develop within an electrical design environment. Candidates may have:

  • A qualification in Electrical Engineering (NVQ / HNC / HND / Degree level)
  • Experience producing or interpreting electrical drawings (college, placement or industry)
  • Exposure to AutoCAD or similar electrical drawing software (desirable)
  • An interest in working within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Good attention to detail and organisation skills
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn

Industry-specific experience is not required, as training will be provided.
