MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interpret 2D drawings, specifications, and route card instructions.
- Plan and determine machining methods, tools, speeds, feeds, and setups.
- Perform dimensional inspection and layout mark off prior to machining.
- Operate machines manually and perform basic programming using Siemens controls.
- Inspect components during machining and adjust as needed to meet quality standards.
- Deburr components and ensure they are safe for material movement.
- Use overhead cranes (LOLER training provided).
- Follow health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Perform other tasks as requested by team leader or manager, within capabilities and safety guidelines.
Hours: Weekly rotating shift: Monday-Friday (06:00 - 14:00 working 14:00 the following week)
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 2 years experience in manual lathe turning and/or deep hole boring (large scale machines preferred).
- The ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Lifting and slinging capabilities.
- A full understanding of Health and Safety and the capability to work safely in a heavy engineering environment.
- The capability to understand and follow basic CNC programs (Knowledge/experience of Siemens language preferred).
