Creative Technology Services - Live Sound Technician
Trinity Laban is striving to achieve excellence beyond tradition, creating a home for performing artists in which boundaries are pushed, collaborations are key, and artistic pioneers are made. We are a world-leading home for students from non-traditional backgrounds with a programme of activity that reaches out to all sections of society, centring the performing arts as a force for cultural and social progress.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, organised and technically skilled Creative Technology Services - Live Sound Technician to join our Creative Technology Services (CTS) team. This role will play a key part in supporting performances, teaching, learning and creative activity across the Conservatoire, with a primary focus on live sound engineering, performance support and events.
Working as part of CTS, the post holder will prepare, install and operate professional audio systems for performances, rehearsals, showcases, workshops and events, while also supporting teaching spaces, equipment loans, technical tutorials and the day-to-day delivery of Creative Technology Services. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues from the Production Department, academic programmes, and other professional services teams to support activity across a variety of Conservatoire venues, and other performance, rehearsal and teaching spaces.
The ideal candidate will have practical experience of live sound engineering, strong troubleshooting skills and excellent interpersonal skills. They will be passionate about supporting students, staff and visiting artists and able to work effectively within a busy and varied conservatoire environment. A significant proportion of the role supports popular music performance activity, student events and live performance projects across the Conservatoire. As such, some evening and occasional weekend working will be required to support performances and events, for which time off in lieu will be provided.
