We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Warehouse Manager/Supervisor to join our team at our Stourbridge site.
This is a key role within the business, managing the day-to-day running of the warehouse and supervising one Warehouse Operative.
The successful candidate will be organised, practical and confident working with steel products, with a strong focus on stock control, warehouse efficiency and accurate documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse
- Supervise and support one Warehouse Operative
- Load and unload deliveries safely and efficiently
- Manage and maintain accurate stock levels
- Monitor stock and deal promptly with stock outages
- Plan and coordinate incoming and outgoing containers
- Organise and prepare export shipments
- Complete and maintain commercial and export documentation
- Ensure goods are stored, handled and dispatched correctly
- Operate a forklift truck safely and responsibly
- Maintain a safe, tidy and organised warehouse environment
- Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, hauliers and customers where required
- Ensure warehouse procedures and health & safety requirements are followed
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in a warehouse, stores or logistics environment, preferably with experience handling steel or other heavy goods.
You will need
- A valid FLT Counterbalance (CB) licence
- Previous warehouse or stock management experience
- Experience loading and unloading goods
- Good organisational and planning skills
- Good attention to detail, particularly when dealing with stock and documentation
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Good computer skills and confidence using warehouse/stock systems and Microsoft Office
- Experience with containers, export shipments and commercial documentation would be advantageous
- A practical, hands-on approach to warehouse management
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external contacts
What We Offer
- Permanent, full-time position
- £27,500 annual salary
- Monday to Friday working hours
- 08:00–16:30, with a 30-minute lunch break
