We are currently recruiting for a General Machinist to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with machining experience who are looking to develop their skills within a heavy manufacturing setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating CNC machinery as well as a range of conventional workshop equipment to support production requirements.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 7:45am - 4:45pm
- Friday: 7:45am - 3:45pm
- Total weekly hours: 41.5 hours
Please note that while the company’s standard contracted week is 39 hours, employees work an additional 2.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating CNC machinery safely and efficiently
- Using conventional machining equipment including:
- Chop saws
- Threading machines
- Conventional drilling machines
- Pillar drills
- Other general workshop machinery
- Producing components to required specifications and quality standards
- Carrying out routine machine checks and maintaining a safe working environment
- Following engineering drawings and production instructions
- Supporting general workshop and manufacturing operations as required
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a machining or engineering manufacturing environment
- Experience operating CNC machinery
