About the Role
We are seeking an experienced CNC Operator to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating Bodor laser cutting machines and CNC AXYZ routers, producing high-quality components to customer specifications while maintaining excellent quality, productivity and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate Bodor laser cutting machines and CNC routers safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and job sheets.
- Load, verify and amend CNC programs, selecting the correct tooling, materials and machine settings.
- Inspect components throughout production to ensure quality standards are met.
- Monitor machine performance, carry out routine maintenance and report faults promptly.
- Complete production documentation accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organised work area and follow all Health & Safety procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist other production departments when required.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience operating Bodor laser cutting machines or similar CNC laser equipment.
- Experience operating CNC routers.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
- Strong attention to detail with a quality-focused approach.
- Good mechanical aptitude and basic computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual and flexible with good communication skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience using CAD/CAM software.
- Background in signage, nameplate or precision manufacturing.
- Knowledge of plastics, laminates, aluminium and stainless steel sheet materials.
- FLT licence and/or an Engineering or Manufacturing qualification.
