Salary: £64,530.00 – 71,013.00 per annum pro rata

Hours: 37 hours per week

We are seeking an experienced IT professional with strong hands‑on network infrastructure and cyber security expertise for a 6‑month fixed‑term appointment to cover a secondment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver cyber security improvements and technical controls across the organisation
  • Oversee firewalls, endpoint protection, threat detection platforms (e.g. Darktrace), and related tooling
  • Manage and secure core network infrastructure (Cisco‑based) and associated services
  • Identify, assess, and remediate vulnerabilities and security risks
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents and events
  • Drive progress towards Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation
  • Oversee key security tooling (e.g. firewalls, SIEM, Darktrace) and third‑party suppliers
  • Lead infrastructure and security projects and support continuous improvement
  • On call support may be required.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Cisco CCNP (essential) with strong hands‑on network experience
  • Experience with penetration testing outputs and vulnerability assessments, and translating findings into actionable remediation plans
  • Proven technical experience across cyber security and infrastructure environments
  • Experience with security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response
  • Strong understanding of network security principles (firewalls, VPNs, segmentation)
  • Experience identifying and remediating vulnerabilities
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and support technical teams
  • Ethical hacking (or similar) training desirable
