ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Supplies team as an Apprentice Supplies Officer, gaining practical experience while working towards the Supply Chain Warehouse Operative level 2 standard. Based in our Harwich supplies department, you will develop the skills and knowledge to support Trinity House's Marine and Engineering operations through warehousing and storage logistics. Supported by experienced colleagues and a dedicated mentor, you will receive structured on-the-job training, complete your apprenticeship and build a strong foundation for a career in supply chain and warehouse operations. To broaden your experience, there may be occasional short secondments to our supplies department in Swansea, together with visits to other Trinity House operational locations.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Support the day-to-day operation of the warehouse.
- Complete your Level 2 apprenticeship and workplace training.
- Learn all aspects of warehouse operations, including goods receiving, stock control, waste management, transport logistics and fleet maintenance.
- Use warehouse equipment safely and follow health, safety and environmental procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and provide excellent customer service.
- Develop skills in planning, organisation and operational compliance.
- Carry out other duties appropriate to the role as required.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- We’re looking for someone who is reliable, motivated and keen to learn, with:
- An interest in stores operations.
- Good IT and communication skills.
- The ability to follow instructions and complete documentation accurately.
- An understanding of manual handling and safe working practices.
- A team-focused attitude and commitment to health and safety.
- Five Level 2 qualifications (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics.
- A full, clean driving licence (desirable).
