We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our field operations team, working predominantly across the East and South Coast of England, Gibraltar while sometimes venturing to Wales, Cornwall, The Channel Islands, the Isles of Scilly and beyond within the UK, in some of the most awe-inspiring coastal locations. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining the UK's vital maritime safety assets while working alongside experienced engineers, technicians, and maritime professionals.
What You'll Do:
- Manage the ongoing maintenance of an estate of 21 historic lighthouses and their associated cottages and out buildings, traveling to many coastal areas and offshore locations in support of the maritime Aids to Navigation.
- Draw up contract specifications and negotiate best value contracts for civil maintenance contracts.
- Identify the technical suitability of contractors to carry out civil's work for Trinity House.
- Ensure CDM Compliance for all necessary work.
- Ensure all necessary planning and listed building consents are obtained.
- Act as the Trinity House Client when managing contractors on site, ensuring all work is carried out to the agreed specification and quality.
- Ensure that reports and returns are entered directly into the appropriate MMIS system.
- Work with our Building Services team to ensure the estate asset reports and engineering standards are maintained to the highest level.
To be successful in this role you should ideally have:
Skills and experience:
- An experienced building maintenance practitioner able to work unsupervised, including in selecting and managing building contractors.
- Understanding of management information systems.
- A thorough working knowledge of the HSE requirements as relating to the construction and building industries, in particular those relating to CDM.
Qualifications:
- A level 4 qualification in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- NEBOSH CDM Certificate.
- Full driving licence.
