A permanent role in Harwich with a salary of £26,631.00 - £28,229.00 per annum (Successful candidates will be appointed on the starting salary of this range). The position requires 37 hours per week.

As our Business Support Officer (Commercial), you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of Trinity House's commercial services, including marine aids to navigation contracts and tourism operations at our lighthouse visitor centres and holiday cottages. Working as part of a small and dynamic team, you will help ensure these activities run smoothly and efficiently, supporting the generation of commercial income that contributes to the General Lighthouse Fund.
This is a fast-paced, varied role requiring strong organisation, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Success in this role depends on clear communication, collaboration, sound judgement, and a proactive approach to keeping operations running smoothly, even when priorities shift.
What will you do:
- Provide day-to-day support to the Commercial and Tourism Services team, including managing enquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor budgets, issue invoices, and track payments.
- Support the coordination of commercial contracts and site-sharing agreements.
- Assist with research and preparation of business proposals.
- Organise exhibitions, events, and travel arrangements.
- Maintain records, reports, and the commercial services risk register.
- Support the operation of lighthouse visitor centres and holiday cottages.
- Monitor customer feedback and help resolve operational issues.
You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation as well as external partners, helping keep a wide range of commercial and tourism activities running smoothly.
