We’re partnering with a high-growth, consumer-led business whose Commercial Finance team plays a critical role in driving performance across a large physical estate and major investment projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant who wants to step into a highly visible, commercially focused role — owning key areas of spend, influencing senior stakeholders, and supporting strategic decision-making across the business.
The Role
This position offers real variety and exposure. You’ll work closely with operational and finance teams to manage and optimise significant capital investment, ensuring clarity, control, and insight across a multi-million-pound spend.
Key responsibilities include:
- Capital Expenditure Ownership – Act as the central point of contact for a £200m+ capex programme, leading forecasting cycles and partnering with multiple business units
- Business Partnering – Collaborate with teams across retail, logistics, and systems to ensure spend is aligned with strategic objectives
- Maintenance & Operational Spend – Monitor and manage ongoing investment across the estate, providing insight to senior stakeholders
- Cashflow & Forecasting – Deliver accurate cashflow projections to support treasury and wider business planning
- Financial Control – Own balance sheet reconciliations and support fixed asset reporting, ensuring accuracy and transparency
- Process Improvement – Identify opportunities to enhance reporting, controls, and efficiency across finance processes
- Audit Support – Work closely with internal and external auditors, maintaining strong financial governance
About You
We’re looking for a confident, commercially aware finance professional who enjoys taking ownership and influencing outcomes.
- Fully qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Strong Excel and analytical capability
- Able to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insight
- Proactive and organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable engaging with stakeholders across all levels of the business
- Experience with capital expenditure or large-scale investment is beneficial, but not essential
