An established and growing manufacturing business in the Black Country is seeking an experienced Payroll & HR Administrator to join its busy finance and HR team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Payroll Administrator, Payroll Officer, HR Administrator, or Payroll & Benefits professional looking for a varied role with long-term progression into HR, systems, and operational support.

The successful candidate will manage end-to-end payroll across weekly and monthly payrolls while supporting wider HR administration, employee records, absence management, and process improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll: Manage end-to-end payroll processing for weekly and monthly payrolls, process payroll accurately and within strict deadlines, handle RTI submissions, statutory payments, P60s, and payroll compliance, maintain payroll records and employee data, investigate payroll queries and Time & Attendance anomalies, support payroll system improvements and process automation, monitor payroll legislation including National Minimum Wage compliance.
  • HR Administration: Maintain HR systems and employee records, support onboarding, absence management, and return-to-work processes, assist with holiday tracking and HR administration, support HR reporting and compliance documentation, assist with implementation and optimisation of HR systems and self-service tools.
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Previous payroll experience within a Payroll Administrator, Payroll Officer, or Payroll & HR role.
  • End-to-end payroll processing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of RTI submissions, payroll legislation, and payroll compliance.
  • Strong administration and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and systems ability.
  • Experience using payroll systems, HR systems, ERP systems, or Time & Attendance software.
  • Confident communicator with a proactive and hands-on approach.

Experience within manufacturing, engineering, industrial, or FMCG environments would be advantageous but is not essential. This role offers genuine long-term progression opportunities for someone looking to expand their experience across:
