We are seeking an experienced Temporary International Tax Manager to support and oversee the organisation's international tax compliance and advisory activities during a defined period of growth and transformation. This role has both hands-on compliance responsibilities and strategic advisory oversight, supporting an expanding international footprint across overseas operations, global partnerships, research activity, and international entities. This is a high-impact role focused on managing international tax risks, coordinating external advisors, improving processes, and helping shape a more proactive and resilient tax function.
Key Responsibilities
- Support compliance with UK corporation tax obligations relating to international activities and overseas operations.
- Review cross-border transactions to assess withholding tax exposure, double tax treaty positions, and permanent establishment risk.
- Support VAT matters relating to international supplies, overseas campuses, and research collaborations.
- Provide tax support on international research grants, partnerships, joint ventures, and global mobility matters.
- Assist with transfer pricing documentation and intercompany arrangements where applicable.
- Prepare tax schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for statutory requirements.
