Key Responsibilities
- Lead group-wide cashflow and working capital oversight, including the review, challenge, and consolidation of forecasts across all sites.
- Drive improved visibility and discipline around working capital management (inventory, receivables, payables), working closely with operational teams to identify risks, opportunities, and corrective actions.
- Proactively analyse and explain cashflow variances, ensuring issues are clearly understood and addressed at site level.
- Partner closely with individual site leadership teams through hands-on, one-to-one engagement to strengthen understanding of cashflow performance and forecasting accuracy.
- Prepare, review, and challenge financial models, budgets, and forward-looking forecasts, ensuring robustness and credibility.
- Maintain strong financial control and governance, with ownership of internal audit activity relating to international trade and regulatory compliance.
- Act as the primary finance lead for tax and regulatory matters, liaising with external tax advisors and ensuring timely, accurate compliance.
- Keep the business informed and compliant with evolving VAT, CBAM, safeguards, and quota regulations, translating regulatory change into practical business understanding.
- Deliver clear, high-quality financial insight, telling the story behind the numbers to support informed decision-making by senior leadership.
Key experience
- Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role, ideally within manufacturing or a multi-site environment.
- Strong UK GAAP, audit and regulatory knowledge; confident with FX and multi-currency exposure.
- A hands-on approach with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- A clear compliance mindset, particularly around international trade.
- Track record in cashflow/working capital improvement and commercial business partnering.
- Advanced Excel and strong ERP capability (Dynamics, SAP, Oracle or similar).
- Clear, decisive leader with high standards and a continuous-improvement mindset.
