A highly regarded international professional services organisation is looking to appoint a commercially minded accountant to support a key business division. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders, providing insight, challenge, and analysis to help drive financial performance and strategic decision-making across the business. The position would suit an ambitious qualified accountant who enjoys combining detailed analysis with genuine business partnering and commercial influence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Performance & Analysis
    • Produce and distribute monthly management accounts with clear commentary and performance insight
    • Analyse financial results, trends, and KPIs to identify opportunities for improved profitability and efficiency
    • Support senior leadership with rolling forecasts and reforecasts to ensure accurate business planning
    • Provide meaningful analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making
  • Business Planning & Forecasting
    • Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and long-range business plans
    • Support the development and evaluation of business cases for strategic initiatives and investment decisions
    • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to challenge assumptions and improve financial outcomes
    • Ensure forecasting and planning submissions are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
  • Commercial Finance & Business Partnering
    • Partner with senior operational stakeholders to support commercial decision-making
    • Provide financial support around pricing, profitability, client performance, and commercial proposals
    • Analyse profitability across clients, sectors, and service lines, making recommendations to improve margins
    • Support wider business development activity through financial insight and modelling
  • Financial Control & Reporting
    • Monitor revenue, billing, cash collection, and working capital performance
    • Support reporting around WIP, utilisation, and other operational metrics
    • Prepare regular KPI and performance reporting for senior leadership
    • Monitor expenditure against budgets and support financial governance processes
  • Continuous Improvement & Projects
    • Contribute to process improvement initiatives across finance and commercial operations
    • Support ad-hoc strategic and operational finance projects
    • Deliver finance-related guidance and support to non-finance stakeholders where required

Candidate Profile

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical capability
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Previous experience within professional services would be advantageous, though not essential
  • Experience using planning and forecasting tools such as TM1, Cognos or similar would be beneficial
