We are excited to be partnering with a growing international business based in Coventry on the recruitment of their new Finance Analyst - Accounts Receivable! This is a real all-rounder finance role: you will own accounts receivable, make the call on credit risk, build the reporting and help shape how the function uses AI and automation. With the remit set to widen into wider finance work, it is a great move for someone who wants to grow.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Owning accounts receivable across two main ledgers with oversight of a third, so you always know where the cash is and what is holding it up.
  • Speaking to customers in the UK and overseas by phone and email, building strong relationships and getting overdue accounts paid.
  • Assessing credit risk on new and existing customers, digging into company filings and credit reports to understand what is really going on behind the numbers.
  • Working with the credit insurers on limit applications and cover, and knowing exactly how long the business is protected when a limit is pulled.
  • Taking the thinking off your manager's desk: gathering the facts, speaking to sales and operations, then bringing two or three options with a clear recommendation.
  • Working closely with sales and operations to understand what is coming down the pipeline, balancing commercial priorities against risk.
  • Handling credit notes for distribution partners, from goodwill payments to rebates, warranty credits and returns, and finding ways to automate them.
  • Building reporting that goes well beyond what is overdue: debtor days, unallocated payments and the full picture across every ledger, with a lead on consolidating it.
  • Working with the in-house IT team and AI tools to automate the sales ledger, for example sending statements to customers before invoices fall due.
  • Picking up wider finance work as the role grows, such as cashbook reconciliations and other tasks that sit alongside receivables.

What We Need From You

  • Hands-on accounts receivable or credit control experience, whether as a dedicated role or as part of a broader finance position, and you can tell us exactly what you did.
  • Someone with blue sky thinking, who is genuinely interested in AI and automation and loves building a better way of doing things.
  • A get-it-done attitude: you roll your sleeves up and do the groundwork properly.
  • A quick learner who picks things up on the job and starts anticipating the next question before it is asked.
  • Someone commercially minded and logical, who has an opinion and a reason behind it, and is happy to say 'here is what I would do and why.'
  • A confident communicator who is comfortable picking up the phone and building rapport with customers.
  • Comfortable reading credit reports and company accounts, or sharp enough to pick it up fast with a bit of guidance.
  • Good Excel and reporting skills, ideally with ERP experience, and the ability to turn data into something clear for non-finance colleagues.

What's in it for you

  • A permanent, full-time, office-based role in a business with a friendly, low-ego team.
  • Free lunch every day.
  • Real influence over how AI and automation are applied to the finance function.
  • Genuine room to grow, with the remit widening beyond receivables over time.
  • A varied role across receivables, credit risk, reporting and automation, with international customers, so the work keeps moving.
  • A manager who is keen to invest in the right person and back them.

If this sounds like the all-rounder finance role you have been looking for and you think you fit, we would love to hear from you.
