- Banking Administrator
- Temporary - potential to be extended
- Initiative valued over experience - great place to start
Banking Administrator
This is a great opportunity to join a fast paced team on a temporary basis, working right at the heart of payments and expenses. You'll get exposure to a real mix of administrative tasks, from reconciling travel expenses to defending chargebacks and helping build the reporting behind it. It's a role where communication and initiative matter more than experience alone, so if you're keen to build a career in this kind of environment, this is a brilliant place to start.
The right candidate will be immediately available or on a short notice period, ready to hit the ground running in a busy, deadline driven environment. Some background in administration, business admin or a related area is useful, and any exposure to banking, transaction queries or fraud checks is a real bonus. Above all we need someone confident, curious and unafraid to ask questions, who enjoys getting stuck in and liaising across different departments.
What You Will Be Doing
- Reconciling employee travel and expense accounts, keeping everything accurate and up to date
- Managing the day to day workflow of expense processing, chasing down anything that doesn't add up
- Producing weekly reporting on aged balances, giving the wider team clear visibility of outstanding items
- Defending chargebacks raised by payment providers, pulling together evidence packs and clear, well written justifications to fight them
- Working closely with an offshore team to keep chargeback and expense processes moving smoothly
- Supporting employees with queries on the expense platform, talking them through issues in a friendly, patient way
- Handling company credit card queries and reconciliations as part of the wider process
- Investigating and querying transactions to spot anything that looks unusual or potentially fraudulent
- Liaising confidently with colleagues across different departments to get queries resolved quickly
- Taking ownership of your own workload during busy, fast paced periods including month end
What We Need From You
- Immediately available or able to start on a short notice period, as this is temporary cover
- Someone with a genuine interest in administration, whether through study such as AAT, business admin or similar, or hands on experience
- Confident using Excel and Google Sheets at an intermediate level, comfortable working with data day to day
- Some understanding of what a chargeback is and why it matters, from any background, banking experience would be a bonus
- A strong communicator who isn't afraid to ask questions and pick things up quickly
- Someone with a real sense of maturity and initiative, happy to get stuck in from day one
- Comfortable working to tight deadlines, especially during busy periods like month end
- Previous exposure to expense management platforms is beneficial but not essential
What's in It for You
- Competitive rate of pay
- Genuine variety and exposure to a fast paced administrative function
- A supportive team environment where questions are welcomed, not judged
- Valuable experience to build on for future roles
- Potential for the role to be extended
