I'm partnering with an ambitious, acquisitive group in Dudley that is looking to appoint a Finance Manager at an exciting point in its growth. This is a chance to step into a Finance Manager role at exactly the point where the finance function is being shaped for its next stage. You'll be close to the deal activity, the integration work and the decisions that come with a fast moving business, giving you the kind of exposure that usually takes years to build elsewhere.
Why this role stands out
- Genuine M&A exposure, including completion balance sheet negotiations with sellers and accounting for each acquisition
- Ownership of the group simplification process, hiving up acquired entities and taking them through to liquidation
- A real say in designing the processes and control environment the business will scale on
- Involvement in future projects such as ERP implementation, automation and systems integration
- Direct contact with investors, funders and external advisers
- Leadership of a team of four, with room to grow your remit as the group grows
What you'll be doing
- Leading month end close and reporting for the main trading entity and all holding companies
- Managing the operational finance team across AP, banking, payroll and finance admin
- Owning VAT, corporation tax and PAYE compliance across the group, working alongside external tax advisers
- Running the year end audit and statutory accounts process
- Developing KPIs and improving the quality and flow of financial MI across the business
What you'll bring
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
- Strong month end close experience, ideally gained in a larger or more structured environment so you know what good looks like
- Solid UK GAAP knowledge, including consolidations, lease accounting, cash flow statements and intangibles
- Good working knowledge of corporation tax, VAT and employment taxes, with the confidence to review adviser output
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to turn data into clear insight for the business
- ERP or systems implementation experience would be a bonus
- A hands on, positive approach and a genuine appetite for a high growth environment
