About the role

This role is not just about design in isolation – you will work closely with engineers and project stakeholders, participate in project decisions, and contribute to a collaborative team that thrives on shared success from early design stages through installation and ongoing support. The position is full‑time, permanent, and operates from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday. It can be based from our Exeter office (EX5 1AU), our Abingdon office (OX14 1RL), or alternatively from home.

What you'll be doing

  • Producing high‑quality CAD drawings (primarily 2D) using AutoCAD.
  • Managing drawing production across the full lifecycle of each project.
  • Coordinating with engineers and project teams to ensure buildability and compliance.
  • Following drawing standards to produce consistent, well‑structured outputs.
  • Acting as a key part of a friendly, experienced project team – trusted, challenged, and valued beyond just a name on a drawing.

You'll need

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D essential) and familiarity with Revit/BIM.
  • Experience producing commercial design work, ideally in MEP, fire & security, or similar fields.
  • A hands‑on approach and good problem‑solving instincts.
  • The ability to pass an enhanced DBS check.
  • Experience or knowledge of fire and security system design is desirable but not essential – we can support the right person to learn on the job if you bring the core CAD skills and practical thinking.
