We are looking for a HCA to join our friendly established team at a lovely practice in Stratford upon Avon. Must have experience of working in General Practice and hold an NVQ 3 in health and social care.

Working under the direct supervision of the Nurse Partner and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the healthcare assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.

Main duties of the job:

  • ECG recording
  • Chaperoning duties
  • Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs and nurses
  • Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment
  • Vaccine and cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
  • Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
  • Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
  • Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations
  • Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients' health and well-being
  • Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
  • Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
  • Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being

Trinity Court patients have a diverse population and use a multidisciplinary approach bringing together five Partners, seven salaried GPs, a Practice Nurse and HCA Team led by a Nurse Partner, Clinical Pharmacists, Social Prescribers. An exceptional Management team and our non-clinical team deliver an efficient and effective service, providing the highest standards of patient care. We are a training practice, with a strong ethos of training registrars as well as teaching and developing staff. The practice achieves high QoF scores and is commissioned to provide a range of enhanced services. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver safe and high-quality care.

Job responsibilities:

We are a busy, 21,000 general practice in beautiful Stratford upon Avon looking for a HCA with a flexible approach, can-do attitude and a strong commitment to the aims and values of primary care to join our friendly, professional team. The practice has a good CQC rating in all areas and prides itself on maintaining high standards of care.

Person Specification:

  • Qualified HCA Level 3 or above
  • Disclosure and Barring Service Check: This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
