About Us Trinity College, founded in 1546 by Henry VIII, is one of the largest Colleges in the University of Cambridge, with some 720 undergraduates, 350 graduate students, 190 Fellows and around 360 non-academic staff. We are seeking an experienced and proactive Property Compliance Officer to join our Works (Maintenance) Department to ensure full statutory and regulatory compliance across our property portfolio. You will oversee key areas including gas, electrical, water management, asbestos, fire compliance and CDM, ensuring robust systems, accurate records, and a strong safety culture. You will play a vital part in driving a strong culture of maintenance safety and compliance, working closely with internal teams, contractors, and the College's Health & Safety and Fire function to ensure best practice is embedded across all activities.

Key responsibilities will include monitoring and management of compliance across all property safety areas sitting within the Works Department, in addition to supporting the work of the Fire Officer who sits within the Health and Safety Team. Across all areas of compliance you will be required to maintain clear and robust records, ensure timely statutory checks are completed, monitoring performance against Compliance KPI's through audits and site inspections. You must also possess strong data analysis skills to drive compliance improvement and contribute to the production of management reports.

You will be a confident and knowledgeable professional with experience in property compliance and a passion for maintaining safe environments and a commitment to continuous improvement. Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and CDM 2015 is essential, together with working knowledge of key compliance areas (gas, electrical, fire, asbestos, water) and experience of conducting audits.

The salary for the post is in the range of £42,000 to £46,000 per annum plus excellent benefits which include (subject to eligibility) a generous defined contribution pension scheme, free meals in College, a subsidised gym and, after satisfactory completion of the probation period, a cycle to work scheme and private health care.
