Trinity Claims is seeking a highly skilled Surveyor with a proven track record in managing high value, complex domestic claims from cradle to grave.

We want you to:
Deliver a customer focused and cost efficient service by managing household building validation and repairs within defined financial authority limits. As part of the position, you will conduct site visits to assess and prepare scopes of work for large loss claims. Additionally, you will review and verify scope and quantum on previously accepted claims, while providing support to network surveyors and contractors.
You will oversee claim spend on building repairs and manage large loss reinstatements with administrative support. Your technical expertise will be crucial for handling building damage related claims and acting as a first point of contact for the Customer Services Team on FOS complaints.
This position will require reasonable travel across the UK, along with the flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
We’ll need you to be able to:
Communicate claim decisions directly to the Policyholder or Authorised Persons with clear, well explained reasoning.
Experience in dealing with complex home claim in excess of £100,000.
Assess building claims in accordance with relevant policy wording ensuring clear well communication explanation of any partial or declined claims.
Provide first stage support for Customer Services in handling FOS complaints, including drafting detailed technical decision reports.
Collaborate with approved Building Contractors to manage contract variations and interim payments, coordinating joint site visits when required.
Provide technical guidance on building repairs, conduct peer to peer reviews, and support the professional development of less experienced colleagues through upskilling initiatives.
Validate customer invoices or quotations using Xactware, ensuring costs are fair, reasonable, and aligned with policy coverage.
Visit large loss claim sites to produce comprehensive reports and scopes of work in Xactware, ensuring accuracy and reserving philosophies are adhered to.
Audit and oversee the performance of Surveyor Networks and Contractors in collaboration with the Supply Chain Manager, reviewing claims from inception to completion through desk and site audits.
Update and manage Buildings Insurance claims by adjusting reserves, coordinating contractor instructions, and closing claims promptly.

Experience/knowledge
A minimum of 5 years construction experience, trade background considered
Estimating/surveying experience within insurance is essential
Experience of Xactware or other estimating software desirable
Qualifications
Secondary education with qualifications in Maths and English, and demonstrable ability in numeracy skills & written English.
Qualifications in surveying such as HNC or MCIOB area desirable
