In this role, we are looking for a Drainage Technician to carry out drainage and water main investigations, maintenance, and repairs at policyholder properties.
You'll diagnose faults, clear blockages, complete CCTV surveys, trace drainage systems and leaks, and carry out minor excavation work where required.
You'll work independently, delivering safe, efficient, and professional service while maintaining high standards of customer care and Health & Safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out drain unblocking using high-pressure water jetting equipment.
- Use drain rods and specialist equipment to remove blockages safely and effectively.
- Conduct CCTV surveys of underground drainage systems.
- Operate drainage camera systems and survey equipment.
- Undertake drain track and trace activities at policyholder properties.
- Open, inspect and assess external manholes and chambers.
- Carry out minor excavation and reinstatement activities where required.
- Communicate professionally with policyholders, and members of the public.
- Explain findings and recommended actions clearly.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Ensure disruption to the policyholder is minimised during works.
Key Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 3 points.
- Experience in drain unblocking and drain rodding operations.
- Experience operating high-pressure water jetting equipment.
- Ability to undertake CCTV drainage surveys.
- Good customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload.
- Basic IT skills for report completion and mobile applications.
- Willingness to work overtime and participate in out-of-hours call-out arrangements where required.
- Experience working with insurance claims and policyholder properties.
