Responsibilities
- Lead explorer of the curriculum as Head of Department, providing a visionary direction for Geography as a lens to understand students' impact on the planet.
- Refine and design a contemporary curriculum that bridges the gap between classroom learning and real world application.
- Empower the department to deliver engaging, challenging and memorable lessons, including fieldwork opportunities, to instil a love of lifelong learning.
Qualifications
- Experience as an experienced teacher who has led a department or held relevant post-holder responsibilities and is ready for promotion.
- Proven track record of understanding and implementing pedagogical best practices to enable excellent student outcomes.
- Ability to create a supportive, encouraging and safe learning environment for pupils of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Desirable but not essential: experience of teaching BTEC Public Services, Uniformed Protective Services or Travel and Tourism.
