By managing and nurturing client relationships, the Business Development Manager will drive revenue growth for Trindent’s downstream oil & gas consulting services. Based in the UK or Europe and reporting directly to the President, the role will develop new market initiatives, deploy commercial strategies, and expand the firm’s presence within the sector.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare the business plan for the sales practice, estimate sales potential, identify key clients, devise strategies, identify collaboration opportunities, and actively contribute to business planning.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with senior and C‑level client executives and expand professional networks within client organizations.
- Analyze the probability of winning deals, assess deal criticality for Trindent, and negotiate the terms and conditions of the assessment/engagement with the client.
- Obtain confirmation and approval from all internal stakeholders to ensure timely and smooth closure of deals.
- Educate clients on Trindent differentiators (consulting frameworks, intellectual property, etc.), articulate the value proposition, review the financials, and lead proposal presentations to create a compelling value proposition.
- Leverage internal (contacts, colleagues) and external (personal networks, professional networks, analysts) channels to identify clients where services may provide significant business value and help build multi‑million‑dollar relationships.
- Mentor and manage business development associates, set sales targets for the team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 10+ years of business development experience, preferably with an operations‑management consulting company in the downstream refinery or oil & gas sector.
- Experience building, cultivating, and sustaining relationships with C‑suite level clients.
- Robust negotiation skills and ability to lead key negotiations at a senior level.
- Skill in qualifying the business from a service perspective, including determining client service needs, estimating scope & resources, and developing initial approach and work‑stream plans.
- Ability to develop and ensure successful execution of complex, multi‑faceted sales strategy/implementation.
- Ability to plan and accomplish goals.
- Ability to inspire and motivate the team and the client to act with a sense of urgency and solve complex business issues in a fast‑paced environment.
- Availability and willingness to travel extensively locally and internationally up to 50% of the time.
- Active and up‑to‑date contact network in the European refinery industry.
