The Training Manager is responsible for developing, delivering, and managing all technical training programmes for internal employees, external customers, and authorised service partners. This includes training on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Power Conversion Systems (PCS), and associated software platforms. The role encompasses course creation, certification frameworks, delivery, and full oversight of mandatory internal training requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive curricula for BESS hardware, PCS systems, EMS/SCADA interfaces, and maintenance procedures.
- Create structured course pathways from introductory to expert levels.
- Build tailored programmes for internal service staff, customers, and certified partners.
- Establish certification tiers and develop exams and practical assessments.
- Manage certification issuance, tracking, and recertification processes.
- Ensure training standards meet industry and customer expectations.
Training Delivery
- Conduct classroom, practical, and remote technical training sessions.
- Deliver hands-on training at training centres or customer sites.
- Continuously update and improve delivery methods based on trainee feedback.
Internal Training & Legal Compliance
- Own the company’s internal mandatory training framework.
- Maintain training matrices for all technical and service personnel.
- Arrange and track required compliance training such as electrical safety, LOTO, first aid, fire safety, manual handling, and others.
Training Material Development
- Create training manuals, slide decks, videos, guides, and assessments.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to ensure technical accuracy.
- Maintain a central and up-to-date training repository.
Support for Product Launches & Updates
- Develop training for new product releases and firmware updates.
- Update materials when product specifications or procedures change.
Training Operations & Administration
- Schedule and coordinate all training events.
- Manage training facilities, equipment, and demonstration hardware.
- Track KPIs including attendance, completion rate, and certification compliance.
External Customer & Partner Enablement
- Act as the primary training liaison for customers and service partners.
- Ensure partner technicians are certified before performing field work.
- Provide post-training support and competency evaluations.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years experience in BESS, power electronics, or training related field.
- Experience in training delivery, instructional design, or technical education.
- Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for different audiences.
- Ability to travel.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and instructional skills.
- Strong organisation and planning capability.
- Ability to coordinate multiple training programs across regions.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of Li-ion battery systems, PCS/inverters, and EMS/SCADA.
- Knowledge of ISO or accredited training frameworks.
- Experience in service organisations within renewables or industrial automation.
