Are you a skilled Maintenance Engineer looking to join a fast-paced, high-performing team? We are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support our busy food production facility in Hounslow. This is a hands-on role where you will be essential in maintaining equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing and packaging operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production and packaging machinery
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing faults promptly and safely
- Supporting process optimisation and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) improvement projects
- Working closely with Production and Quality teams to meet operational targets
- Accurately recording maintenance activities and equipment downtime via the CMMS system
- Ensuring compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Time-served Engineer or equivalent qualification (HNC/HND/NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical, Electrical, or Multi-Skilled Engineering)
- Proven experience in a fast-moving, semi-automated manufacturing environment (food, beverage, FMCG preferred)
- Strong mechanical knowledge with solid electrical fault-finding capabilities and experience working with PLC-controlled equipment
- Ability to work effectively within a continental shift pattern
- Excellent diagnostic skills, problem-solving ability, and communication skills
- Knowledge of DAF plant operations
- Gas safety certification
- 17th/18th Edition (if electrically biased)
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles
